WORKSHOP ON ATTITUDE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS FOR FINAL YEAR STUDENTS OF MGNMR COLLEGE FOR WOMEN , MADURAI – HELD ON APRIL 22 & 23, 2023 – BRIEF INFORMATION
Dear Friends,
SETN (Sourashtra Engineers and Technologists Net – https://souengrs.com ) organised a Workshop for Final Year Students of Madurai Gandhi NMR Subbaraman College for Women, Madurai on 22&23 April 2023. This program has been sponsored by SOURASHTRA DHAAN ORGANISATION, USA (https://dhaan.org).
52 students participated.
M/s VRG Technologies, Chennai, (www.vrgtechtraining.com) was entrusted to conduct this program.
Faculty: Dr Arivukkarasu, Ph D Mathematician, Mrs Vijayalakshmi KE M Sc M Phil, MBA, Technical Evangelist, Mrs Kavitha A, Communication and Skill Trainer of M/s VRG Technologies handled the sessions.
TOPICS: Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, Computer Knowledge, Job Searching and Applying Tips, Soft Skills including Communication Skills, Various Avenues for Employment, Resume Building etc., were the topics for the Workshop. Outcomes: The students were provided with printed as well soft copies study materials to pursue further at their end to apply, prepare for the competitive examinations, placement tests, interviews and get employed at the earliest after graduation and post-graduation.

SETN has received overwhelming support from our Sourashtra Community people all over the world (India, USA, UK, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Europe ) in the first year of the launch of our website in 2020-21. The sponsors have helped the deserving poor meritorious students belonging to our Sourashtra Community studying in different colleges by paying their fees / providing scholarship. With all your sponsorship Financial Assistance was provided to 174 students during the last semester (2020-21) and the total amount disbursed was Rs 10.92 lakhs.
We have attached herewith the First List of 272 Students to be supported in the current semester (2021-22). The details of aid given by sponsors in the previous semesters are also there. Some students are yet to apply as the plus 2 examination results/ University results are yet to be announced.

launched a new website https:\\souengrs.com on 27 May 2020 at Madurai with the objectives of :
1) Bringing together global Sourashtra professionals, exchange information, update professional
knowledge, rendering support to develop our community students
2) Providing financial assistance to the deserving meritorious and poor students to pursue
Education, Guidance in Career development and Encourage Entrepreneurship.
Basically, we plan to focus on the following in due course of time:
i) Consult widely with students on our website on the adequacy of the current skills, qualification
for students
ii) Review the skills of students via forums on our website with specialists/experts in respective
field
iii) Establish coordination to review specific units of competency with the view to streamline and
improve the quality of skills to have competent edge in job arena. This can be done via
a. Face to face meetings
b. Skype meetings
c. Online Forums.
d. Presentation skills
iv) Establish opportunities for comments and feedback via forums on our website.
We have a panel of highly qualified professionals in various fields (industries, academic
institutions, scientists, entrepreneurs, award winners, R&D, etc) to guide us in our activities (refer
to the Annexure enclosed)
We propose to provide financial support (Scholarship) to deserving meritorious and poor students
for which a panel of experts will review / select the students based on the applications received and
rank score arrived at using the inputs from students, feedback from the colleges and parents.
The sponsors will provide financial support for a given semester directly either to the selected
students or to the respective colleges (in favour of the deserving student). Amounts paid directly to
the colleges may be eligible for income tax benefits in India.

As on December 30, 2020 , Rs 4,43,655/ has been disbursed towards the educational support for 103 students studying / newly joined in various colleges to enable them to pay on due date (please see the details in separate link in the home page). In addition Rs 28100/ has been given to 12 students of NMR College by our Sponsors as one time payment to pay the outstanding fees which they could not pay due to their parents incomes affected by corona impact. The sponsors have sent the money to the colleges / students directly based on our recommendations. We have now completed the the process first semester support and henceforth any new applications will be considered for the remaining semesters while the students supported in first semester will continue to be supported in further semesters. We continue to get applications for scholarship. As on date 145 scholarship applications have been received.
